Today, we got an e-mail from Nehemia with a question about citizenship.
Nehemia wrote and said:
Since I’m a Korean citizen now, I want my kids for dual citizen, what is the processing? and whats the requirements need?
Here is Bob’s response to Nehemia:
Hi Nehemia. I don’t have all of the information needed to know if your children qualify to be dual citizens. Basically, if you were still a Philippine citizen at the time of the children’s birth, then they qualify. If you had already become a Korean citizen at the time they were born, then your children are not qualified to become Philippine citizens.
If indeed they were born while you were still a Philippine citizen, then all you need to do is contact the Philippine Embassy in Seoul and request an application form for dual citizenship. They will send you the application which will include a checklist for all of the required documents needed.
Thank you for visiting our site, Nehemia, and good luck to you and your children. I hope life in Korea is good for you and your family.
