I’m looking for interaction

If you love blogging, interact with those who love you!

I enjoy interaction. I like to be engaged. These are two of the main things I am looking for when I read blogs in the Internet. There are millions of blogs on the Internet, literally.  A large number of those, though, are sort of on autopilot - posts show up, but beyond that, there really is nothing much more. To me, a blog should be interactive.  You post an article.  If you have a big enough reader base, some of your readers will respond by posting a comment with their thoughts and opinions on the subject that you wrote about.  Should that be the end of things?  In my opinion, no, it should not.  As a blogger, you really … [Read more...]

Tom Nixon: Internet Business for the masses!

tcn2-150x150

Today on Web-Earner, we have a Guest Article from my friend and fellow Internet Businessman, Tom Nixon.  I have known Tom for several years now through our various Internet Ventures.  Our paths crossed online, and we have been friends ever since.  We haven’t met in person, but I feel a close kinship with Tom.  Tom offered to write this article, and I happily accepted.  Thank you for your contribution, Tom! Tom Nixon Bob Martin expends a great deal of energy touting Internet business for the masses. He believes that, with the right idea and the right effort, most folks could successfully run an online venture. And he’s right. The … [Read more...]

Leveraging your online popularity

leverage-tn

I’ve been writing lately about turning your online earning from a hobby to a business.  Part of the key here is changing the way you think.  But, there are other things that you need to do as well, if you want to establish a serious online business. One of your first steps is going to be to develop a following online.  Whether you have a website, a blog, an e-commerce store or a combination of all of these, you won’t really achieve huge success until, or unless you develop a crowd of people who follow you online.  Even if you manage to become very popular online, you still need to turn that level of online success into … [Read more...]

It’s a business!

businesspeople

In the past few weeks, I have read a number of articles on the net, on various blogs that had a similar theme.  Reading these articles really reinforced some things that I already believe, and helped me reconsider those thoughts, and as I reconsidered, I came to the same conclusion that I had already developed in the past, which was the conclusion of the authors of the articles too. Basically, the theme of these articles is about earning money online, and the fact that doing so is a business, not just a time to play around.  Many people start blogging, or some other way of earning money online, and they will put AdSense ads, or something … [Read more...]

I’ve been absent!

Natural-mosquito3

Hi everybody.  I hope there are still a few people following my personal site!  I've been absent from this site for a bit now.  Unfortunately, back at the beginning of September I got ill, and was quite sick for quite a while! I got a case of Dengue Fever.  Dengue is a tropical disease that is caused by mosquito bites.  Dengue is deadly in about 5% of those who contract the disease.  I was lucky, though, I lived through it!  Actually, it can take up to about 6 months to fully recover from a case of dengue fever, although after a month or 6 weeks, the worst affects of the disease have generally passed.  So, while I am not 100% … [Read more...]

Creating wealth?

computer-money-lg-150x150

There is a fellow who has been corresponding with me for about a year now.  He is not somebody that I communicate with real regularly, but maybe every 2 months or so I will hear from him.  He is a school teacher.  Beyond that I won’t identify him, for the sake of his anonymity. This guy, let’s call him Mort, is always looking for ways to supplement his income on the Internet.  When Mort writes to me, it is often to run an idea by me to see what I think.  From everything I see from Mort, I feel that his problem is that he thinks small.  Many people think too big, but Mort thinks way too small. Most recently, I got an e-mail … [Read more...]

Producing original content

books-150x150

There are lots of ways to make money online. I use many different paths toward earning a living online myself.  I want to look at one of those ways today, and look at what I’ve done, and what I will do in the future with this income stream.  I am talking about creating content, which you will sell. What do I mean by “content?” Certainly, there are all kinds of “content.” Well, I am primarily talking about three different things: Writing eBooks to sell for download. Writing paper books which I will sell and ship to the customer. Making videos and selling them. Self Publish for Success Well, in 2008 I wrote a … [Read more...]

It’s like TV Guide for the Internet!

TV-Guide-150x150

A few days ago, I was watching the news on TV.  Since I live in the Philippines, I was watching the Philippine news, on a Philippine TV station.  They were talking about how the company that owns the channel I was watching was going to put up about 5 new digital TV channels.  During the discussion, they mentioned other TV channels that were owned by this particular broadcaster.  I don’t know for sure, but I would guess that this company probably owns between a dozen to 20 different TV channels. This whole discussion kicked off a thought in my mind.  I am a publisher.  I have a lot of websites where I publish information on the … [Read more...]

Putting butts in the seats

Provide-something-to-read-150x150

Putting butts in the seats?  What is that all about?  Seems a bit of a strange subject! Well, yes, the title is a bit unconventional, for sure.  However, what I am basically saying is that if you have a blog, or some kind of website, you want to bring an audience to read it!  You want the “seats” in the auditorium to be filled up with people’s butts who are sitting there reading the content that you have published. If you don’t have an audience, why publish at all? A little over a week ago, I published an article entitled “Facebook is for Dummies.”  In that article, I explained that I use Facebook to … [Read more...]

What can I write about?

Ebooks200-150x150

Whether it be for writing a blog, writing an e-book or any other form of writing, one of the biggest reasons for failure is that the person doing the writing simply stops writing.  In my experience, the biggest reason why people stop writing is because they can’t figure out what to write about.  Frankly, if they were writing on a topic that they are passionate about, as I recommend, I don’t see how this situation could occur. If you are writing on a topic that is one of your passions, you should always have something to say.  I know that for topics that are dear to my heart, I never run out of things that I can talk about.  If … [Read more...]
