I’m looking for interaction

If you love blogging, interact with those who love you!

I enjoy interaction. I like to be engaged. These are two of the main things I am looking for when I read blogs in the Internet. There are millions of blogs on the Internet, literally.  A large number of those, though, are sort of on autopilot - posts show up, but beyond that, there really is nothing much more. To me, a blog should be interactive.  You post an article.  If you have a big enough reader base, some of your readers will respond by posting a comment with their thoughts and opinions on the subject that you wrote about.  Should that be the end of things?  In my opinion, no, it should not.  As a blogger, you really … [Read more...]

Leveraging your online popularity

I’ve been writing lately about turning your online earning from a hobby to a business.  Part of the key here is changing the way you think.  But, there are other things that you need to do as well, if you want to establish a serious online business. It’s a business!

In the past few weeks, I have read a number of articles on the net, on various blogs that had a similar theme.  Reading these articles really reinforced some things that I already believe, and helped me reconsider those thoughts, and as I reconsidered, I came to the same conclusion that I had already developed in the past, which was the conclusion of the authors of the articles too. I’ve been absent!

Hi everybody.  I hope there are still a few people following my personal site!  I've been absent from this site for a bit now.  Unfortunately, back at the beginning of September I got ill, and was quite sick for quite a while! I got a case of Dengue Fever.  Dengue is a tropical disease that is caused by mosquito bites.  Dengue is deadly in about 5% of those who contract the disease.  I was lucky, though, I lived through it!  Actually, it can take up to about 6 months to fully recover from a case of dengue fever, although after a month or 6 weeks, the worst affects of the disease have generally passed.  So, while I am not 100% … [Read more...]

Creating wealth?

There is a fellow who has been corresponding with me for about a year now.  He is not somebody that I communicate with real regularly, but maybe every 2 months or so I will hear from him.  He is a school teacher.  Beyond that I won’t identify him, for the sake of his anonymity. There are lots of ways to make money online. I use many different paths toward earning a living online myself.  I want to look at one of those ways today, and look at what I’ve done, and what I will do in the future with this income stream.  I am talking about creating content, which you will sell. It’s like TV Guide for the Internet!

A few days ago, I was watching the news on TV.  Since I live in the Philippines, I was watching the Philippine news, on a Philippine TV station.  They were talking about how the company that owns the channel I was watching was going to put up about 5 new digital TV channels.  During the discussion, they mentioned other TV channels that were owned by this particular broadcaster.  I don’t know for sure, but I would guess that this company probably owns between a dozen to 20 different TV channels. Putting butts in the seats

Putting butts in the seats?  What is that all about?  Seems a bit of a strange subject! Well, yes, the title is a bit unconventional, for sure.  However, what I am basically saying is that if you have a blog, or some kind of website, you want to bring an audience to read it!  You want the “seats” in the auditorium to be filled up with people’s butts who are sitting there reading the content that you have published. What can I write about?

Whether it be for writing a blog, writing an e-book or any other form of writing, one of the biggest reasons for failure is that the person doing the writing simply stops writing.  In my experience, the biggest reason why people stop writing is because they can’t figure out what to write about.  Frankly, if they were writing on a topic that they are passionate about, as I recommend, I don’t see how this situation could occur.
