MindanaoBob
I publish a number of different Websites on the Internet, and I wanted to put together a page where I could give you a list of all of my webpages, so that you could follow them more easily. With the number of sites that I publish there is a good chance that I have sites that some of my readers and followers are unaware of, thus, I thought it a good idea to have one central page where my Websites are listed along with a bit of information about each site, so you will know what it is all about.
Many of my sites are active with posts daily or at least several times per week. Other of my sites have lived out their lives and have now become inactive. For the sites that are not actively updated, though, there is still a wealth of information in the archives, and you may find a nugget of gold there that will be useful to you, so while the sites are not regularly updated, they are still available for readers who have an interest.
So, here is a list of the sites that make up the Mindanao Bob Publishing Network:
Active Informational Sites
- LiP Web Magazine
Live in the Philippines Web Magazine This site is commonly known and referred to as “LiP” for Live in the Philippines. LiP is without a doubt my most successful and biggest Website. LiP is about, of course, living in the Philippines. I am an American, but have been living in the Philippines since May 2000, and have, in most respects, loved living here in the Philippines. LiP is about sharing my knowledge and experiences with other foreigners who desire to live in the Philippines. In addition to myself, there are about 10 other writers on LiP, including my wife Feyma.
I started LiP in July 2006, so it is a rather long term site. The site, as of this writing, features about 2,500 articles on all sorts of topics related to living in the Philippines for a foreigner, and what it is like to live here.
Live in the Philippines Real Estate Or, LiP Real Estate. This part of the LiP site was added in 2010, and is mostly operated by my wife, Feyma. Feyma, for a number of years now, has been involved with helping foreigners find properties to rent or purchase in Davao City, where we live. She started getting so many inquiries about this that we decided to make an entirely separate part of the site just to help people find houses, apartments or even raw land to fill their needs here in the Philippines.
If you have a real estate related need anywhere in the Philippines, just click on the image on the left and see what we have available for you. If you don’t see just what you want, click on the contact button and let Feyma know what she can help you find. She’ll be happy to help you.
Habits for Smart People This site is a new project that I am getting into. I actually started the site in 2010, but I didn’t do much with it until recently, in 2011. I have been posting here several times per week, though, and I hope that the articles might be of interest to you, I know they are to me.
On Habits for Smart People, I write about things that Smart people should, and should not do in their daily lives. I write about the challenges of being smart, and the advantages. Being smart is not always a big plus, it presents challenges to the person who is smart, and can get very tough in some instances. This site investigates that.
If you are a smart person and want to join in the discussion, please come and visit by clicking on the graphic at the left.
Virtual Earner I have been earning my living through the Internet since 1998. Additionally, I have been earning money on the net since about 1995, part time before 1998. In that time, I’ve learned a thing or two about earning money online, and I want to share my experiences and my ideas with you. I have earned money through selling items at auction, like eBay, through e-Commerce, through writing electronic books and through Publishing information on the Web. I believe that I have information that can assist you in doing the same. That’s why I want you to read Virtual Earner and learn how you can make money over the Internet like I do.
I publish new content on Virtual Earner several times per week, so there is always something fresh to read. Some days, in between new articles, I also refresh some older articles that you may have missed. I started publishing this site in 2007, so there is plenty of good content to keep you reading!

- Philippine News Magazine
Philippine News Magazine The Philippine News Magazine is a site that ties together several other sites, Luzon Magazine, Visayas Magazine and Mindanao Magazine. The Philippine Magazine will help keep you up to date on Philippine News from around the country. I am the publisher of the site, although my personal day to day involvement with this site is somewhat limited, as it is mostly handled by my staff here in Davao, rather than by myself.
Please check out the Philippine News Magazine by clicking on the image at the left.
Luzon Magazine Luzon Magazine is a news magazine featuring the Luzon Region. Luzon is the northernmost Island and region in the Philippines. The Philippine Capitol, Manila, is on the Island of Luzon, and most of the Political and Economic activity in the country centers around Luzon, and particularly Manila. Because of this, Luzon has a lot of news, and I hope you will find our Luzon Magazine a useful place to keep up with the news from the Luzon Region.
To visit the site, just click on the image at the left.
Visayas Magazine The Visayas Magazine is much like the Luzon Magazine above, but is geared toward the Visayas Region of the Philippines. The Visayas Region is in the Central part of the Philippines and consists of many smaller islands (compared to other regions in the Philippines). While there is no “real” capitol of the region, the biggest and most vibrant city in the Visayas is Cebu City, which is in the central part of the Visayas. Our site concentrates on news from the Visayas Region.
As with the Luzon Magazine, I am not involved personally on a day to day basis in this site, although I am the publisher of the site. To visit and read the site, please click on the graphic image at the left.
Mindanao Magazine This site is the oldest site that I own. I started publishing this site in 1996, in the relatively early days of the Web. I have been passionate about the Island of Mindanao, in the Southernmost part of the Philippines, since the first time I visited Mindanao in 1990. My wife is from General Santos City, in Southern Mindanao.
At the time of this writing, I have visited every Province on the Island of Mindanao, with the exception of two – Camiguin and Sulu. I do plan to visit those two places to complete my travels of Mindanao, it is just a matter of time. While Mindanao has a reputation of being a very dangerous place, in fact the vast majority of the Island is quite safe. I have lived on the Island of Mindanao for more than a decade, which attests to the relative safety here. Yes, Mindanao is my passion, and I hope that you will enjoy reading the Mindanao Magazine, which you can do by clicking on the graphic image at the left.
Live in the Philippines Forum The Live in the Philippines (LiP) Forum is part of the LiP family of sites. LiP Forum is a more freewheeling part of the site where readers can interact and discuss topics related to living in the Philippines. I do participate in the discussions on the forum, but only on a limited basis. It is my belief that I have my platform on the regular LiP site, and I prefer to leave the forum for readers to take over the show and discuss topics on their own, without my interference. I usually only join in when a question is asked and I have the answer that is being looked for.
Join in on the LiP forum, and I hope you enjoy it! Just click on the graphic at the left.
MindanaoBob MindanaoBob is my nickname, and also the name of my personal website. In fact, since you are reading this page, you are currently on the MindanaoBob site! I use MindanaoBob to tie all of my various writing from around the net together and make them all available in one place. Whenever I have a new article (written by me) on any of my sites, there is a short intro here, and a link over to the site where you will find my article. In addition, I do publish unique articles on this site from time to time as well, mostly whenever I have a topic that does not fit into any of my other sites, or is something uniquely personal. When I have something like that, MindanaoBob is where it belongs! So, if you want to keep track of my personal life, Mindanao Bob is the place to visit.

Feyma’s World Feyma’s World is my wife’s personal website. Much like MindanaoBob, Feyma’s world shows a short excerpt of any articles that Feyma writes around the net, which is mostly her weekly article on Live in the Philippines Web Magazine. Additionally, though, any time that Feyma has some personal topic that she wants to discuss, it will appear on Feyma’s World blog.

My Business Sites
Below is a list of websites specifically for businesses that my wife and I operate. If we can offer you any of our services, we will do so with a smile, and our sincere friendship. Just let us know how we can help you through any of the following websites.
Auctiontopia Bookstore Auctiontopia Bookstore is the place where I offer my various eBooks and other such products for sale. I have eBooks about the Philippines, about business, and about language learning. I am always working on new titles that I can offer to help answer questions that you inevitably have on these topics. On all of my books, I offer a 100% money back guarantee. If you are not satisfied with the book, you will get your money back – no questions asked. Visit my Auctionopia Bookstore and browse my selection of books and other products there, I hope you find what you are looking for. If you don’t see what you wanted, just let me know by using the contact form on the site, I will be happy to assist you in any way that I can!

PointmanPI Our PointmanPI service is a Private Investigation service here in the Philippines. We have been in business since 2004, and we can offer nearly any type of investigation that you may need in the Philippines. Our most common investigation, and our specialty is in checking out girlfriends here. For foreigners who live in other countries and have a girlfriend in the Philippines, we can check her out and make sure she is being honest with you. We will see if she has a boyfriend (or a husband!) here in the Philippines and is only out to get money from her “foreign boyfriends,” including you! PointmanPI is discreet and the person being investigated will never know that she is being checked out, you can rest assured.
If you need an investigation in the Philippines, visit our website by clicking on the graphic image at the left.
Gee Your Hair Smells Terrific Do you remember the old shampoo, “Gee Your Hair Smells Terrific?” It was available back in the 70′s and was quite popular. Well, after moving to the Philippines, I found that it was still available here, so I made a business out of it by exporting the shampoo back to customers in the States, and they ate it up! I am no longer doing that business, but am now still making a bit of money from the product through advertising on the website.
If you have a bit of nostalgia and remember the product, visit the website and see if more memories come back! Just click on the image at the left.
WowPhilippines WowPhilippines is my Gift Delivery service in the Philippines. We have been in business since 2001, and our number one goal is customer satisfaction! If you buy from us, we want you to be happy and will do whatever is necessary to make sure you are a happy customer. The way the service works is that if you are abroad, like in the States, Europe or wherever, you can order gifts from us and we will deliver to your loved ones here in the Philippines. We have things like Flowers, Chocolates, Jewelry, Stuffed Animals, and all kinds of other gift products. If we don’t have what you are looking for, just let us know and we will find it for you if possible.
If you have loved ones in the Philippines, click on the graphic at the left and visit WowPhilippines. Let us take care of making you look good and making your loved one happy!
WowDavao Much like the WowPhilippines service shown above, we also have a special shop for Davao City delivery. Why offer a different shop for Davao? Because we are based in Davao City, and that means that we can be a bit more flexible in what we delivery. For example, if you want to buy a kilo of fresh fish, it would be hard to send that by courier to Dumaguete, but we can certainly deliver it in Davao for you. That’s why we put up a special shop for Davao City! So we can offer you a bit more flexibility and service, since we are located here.
If you have loved ones in Davao City, let us take care of delivering special gifts to your loved ones here. You’ll be happy and so will your recipient! Just click on the graphic image at the left.
WowGeneralSantos Much like WowDavao, we also have a special gift delivery shop specifically for General Santos City. Why? Because we have extensive connections and family members in General Santos, and that allows us to be more creative with the products that we can offer you, and the services too. So, you have needs for a gift service in General Santos, I believe that we can fill your needs better than anybody else can. Need something delivered quickly? We can do it! Often, we can deliver within hours of when you place the order! We promise that we will do our best to do that.
Need a gift delivery in General Santos? Just click on the image at the left.
Wow Load What is load? Well, it is credit or minutes on a cellular phone here in the Philippines. Load is prepaid and can be “loaded” onto the cellphone SIM so that the cellphone owner can make calls or send text messages. The way cellphones work in the Philippines is likely much different from what you are used to in the country where you live. Here, cell time prepaid, not billed to you at the end of the month. So, if a person here wants to use their cellphone, they need to have load, and we sell load. What we are offering is that you can pay for the load, and we will load it to the cellphone of the person here in the Philippines. It’s a convenient service that allows your loved one to stay in touch!
My Less Active and InActive Websites
Yeah, I have a few websites that are no longer active, but you might want to check out the archives and see if you can find a gem there. Who knows?
Mindanao Photo Gallery As I mentioned above, Mindanao is a place that I am quite passionate about. I have traveled Mindanao extensively, and I want to share some photos of my travel with you. You can see and enjoy those photos by visiting the Mindanao Photo Gallery. The Gallery has at least one photo of each of the Mindanao Provinces that I have visited.
I believe, but can’t be certain, that there only a handful of foreigners who have traveled to as many parts of Mindanao as I have. It is likely that as a private individual (not military, government, etc), I have probably visited more parts of Mindanao than any other private individual!
I believe that Mindanao is truly The Land of Promise, as it’s nickname implies, and I am happy and proud to bring you a few pictures of the place. Enjoy.
Auctiontopia Back in the late 90′s and through around 2005 or so, I made a career out of online auctions, particularly on eBay. The absolute truth is that during those days, I made as much in a month as the average American earns in a year. It was a lot of work, but I did that for several years, and I loved it. I ended up moving out of that, because I wanted to enjoy life a bit more with some less stressful work. Selling on eBay full time can be a huge job. Back in the day, I would run as many as 800 auctions at a time, and I had a full staff of employees to assist me. If you are interested in online auction selling, read Auctiontopia, I believe there is good information there that will assist you in achieving your money-making goals at the auction!
My Social Networking Sites
Yep, I’m into social networking just like so many other people are these days. Visit my profiles shown below, and make me a friend if you like! I’m always happy to have a new friend on any of the sites below!
MindanaoBob YouTube Channel I have lots of videos for your enjoyment on YouTube! I’ve got stuff from the Davao area, Bukidnon and even a complete tour of Mindanao! Stop by and visit, and I’m sure you will find some enjoyable videos there to entertain you!
I also have videos in both English and you can see me speaking Bisaya (Cebuano) on some of the videos too! That should be entertaining, don’t you think?
I am always coming up with new video content that I can share with my followers, family and friends, so visit often and see what I have new on YouTube!
Facebook My most active social networking site is Facebook. I spend a fairly significant amount of time interacting with friends, family, fans and followers on Facebook. At the time of this writing, I have about 2,100 friends on Facebook and am always happy to add more!
I share a lot of photos on Facebook. Whenever we travel anywhere in the Philippines, we always post the photos on Facebook. Also, if a friend, family member or reader comes and visits me in Davao, I always post a photo of us together on Facebook as well. So, if you want to have your picture with me shown on Facebook, just come for a visit, we will go out for coffee or a drink, and you’ll be on my Facebook photo album! It’s that easy.
Also, from all of my major websites, whenever I post a new article it is shared with all of my Facebook friends so that they will know that there is a new article that they may be interested in reading. If you are my friend on Facebook, you will be notified on your newsfeed when I post a new article on any of my websites!
MindanaoBob on LinkedIn I am not overly active on LinkedIn, but I do have a profile there. Connect with me on LinkedIn, because you never know… one of these days, I might ramp up my LinkedIn activity and start using the site more. I do have several close friends who are encouraging me to use LinkedIn in various ways, so I really should look into it, I suppose.
Anyway, if you want to be my friend on LinkedIn, let’s connect!
Follow me on Twitter Yes, I am on Twitter, I guess like almost everybody else these days! I go through spurts. Sometimes I Tweet regularly, other times I don’t. Follow me, and you will then see my Tweets when I do go active on the site. I am still debating how valuable Twitter is, so my activity on Twitter may increase, or may disappear altogether. I have yet to decide. Sometimes I feel it is a valuable tool, but then at other times I feel it is a massive waste of my time! What do you think?
Anyway, if you are on Twitter, why not follow me! Tweet me and let me know if you think I should step up my Twitter activity! If I get enough such messages…. I’ll do it!
My Google Profile Last but not least among social networking is my Google Profile. Well, OK, I guess it probably IS least! There isn’t much use for a Google Profile as far as I am concerned, but it is there, so I might as well share it with you! Ha ha… you can view my Google Profile by clicking on the image at the left.
OK, so now you have a pretty full rundown on my Publishing Empire! I hope that you find a few of my sites that are of interest, and something that you will enjoy. If I can do anything for you in terms of services, advice or anything else, please feel free to contact me at any time.

Last time i have asked about visa and the stay u can have as foreigner till u die in The Philippines.
Please tell me more i can do before i go to The Philippines.
And what do they mean with Balikbayan.
It is not a comment but a question.
I have never seen something on my hotmail address
Hello Albert – I do not reply to e-mail on comments, I reply on the site itself, so that others can benefit from the information.
Without knowing more about you and your situation, I do not know what Visas you qualify for. For a complete rundown on Visas, I recommend that you check out my eBook, the Philippine Immigration Guide.
Take care.
Balik is an action word in Tagalog which mean to come back, return,
Bayan is Town.
Balikbayan, returning to the town or the returnee's home town/place of resident.
I can assure you that I know what those words mean. Thanks for sharing, though.
Hi Bob,
I came across your website by accident and i enjoyed reading most of the article and today, i would like to share it to my husband and let him read but i can’t find the link anymore just like the topic on “Can you really afford to live in the Philippines myth vs reality”. Please let me know why.
Thanks!
Hi Rosilyn – Check back in a day or so, I am currently migrating that site to a new server, it will be back soon.
Clearly I have been following your efforts for far too long because I recognize all of those sites. You’re the man, Bob!
Hi Tom – I think there were a few sites on the list that I didn’t even know about!
Hi Bob, Greetings from North Little Rock, Arkansas!
You have been a busy guy! My fiancee, in Makati City, sent me your link she ran across doing research. I am planning to move there with her at the first of next year if all goes well. What a huge task at hand! Difficult to get one’s brain around most of the time being so entrenched here for 55 years!
I am happy to see this listing of sites and will check them out! I have dabbled with Internet Marketing now for about a year with no success bouncing to and fro. Now, it is with the utmost that I get things in gear and begin to make $$$$! Hopefully, I can glean some very helpful info from you and take the action needed.
Also, I want to thank you for your years of hard work and dedication to all the sites and information. Most do not really know the amount of coordination and effort it usually takes.
I’d like to stay in touch and maybe share a drink and a few stories one day in the future at Boracay White Beach….hehe! First place fiancee took me to when I arrived as a 1st timer!
Always…Michael
Hi Michael – Thanks for your comment, nice to meet you. Good luck on your Internet Marketing strategies, I hope you do well and earn some nice money.
I would be happy to stay in touch with you. I am not really a Boracay type guy… it’s just too much of a tourist trap for me. I live in Davao City, if you are down this way, I’d be happy to meet up with you, just let me know.
Thanks Bob!
I’ll be checking out your sites and any great info on shipping costs or freight deals I would surely be interested in for just boxes. Nothing huge, just personal stuff, clothing, guitars, small electronic items, etc..
Been having trouble nailing anyone down specifically on costs.
Always…Michael
Hi Michael – On your question about shipping, you did not say if you are shipping to the Philippines or from the Philippines.
If you are shipping stuff to the Philippines, I would recommend using a Balikbayan Box shipping company. I would recommend Forex or LBC for that.
If you are wanting to ship stuff from the Philippines to some other location, I am not able to make a recommendation on that.
sorry Bob…TO Makati City, Philippines!
